Course Details

Located in the centre of the Melbourne Sandbelt, Commonwealth is a par 73 golf course which combines a collection of strong par 3 holes with mid to long par 4's and four par 5's - 2 of which are realistically reachable in 2. Commonwealth is ranked in the Top 30 golf courses in Australia.

The bunkering of many sandbelt courses is similar and Commonwealth is no exception. Strategically placed bunkers capture errant shots and an up and down is no certainty as the bunkers are generally large and deep.

The clever use of mounds and undulations around the green in lieu of or in addition to bunkers toughens the approach shot requirements. Less than perfectly executed approaches can leave the golfer with a delicate chip to the green.

The par 3 holes at Commonwealth combine cavernous, ball catching bunkers with large undulating putting surfaces. Par on each of these holes and you are on your way to a respectable score.

The clubhouse at Commonwealth is also one of the best in the Melbourne Sandbelt, overlooks the 1st and 18th holes and is a focal point of the golf club

Visitors should be invited to play by a member of Commonwealth, unless they are from interstate or overseas, in which case they may be introduced by the General Manager.

Terms & Conditions

Strict Dress Code applicable including:

MEN: Golf attire is expected to consist of a polo shirt with collar, tailored slacks or knee length tailored shorts. Traditional golf shoes are to be worn. Soft spike only. No Denim

LADIES: Traditional golf attire is requested. Tailored slacks, skirts and long shorts are acceptable. Polo shirts with a collar are to be worn at all times.

CLUBHOUSE MEN AND LADIES: Golf attire is expected in the bar and accepted on application in the dining room. 

 WET WEATHER POLICY Should the golf course be deemed unplayable on the day of your event your deposit may be held over for a future event to be held within 12 months.

Cancellation within 7 days is not refundable.
